All smog check stations offer a pre-test; just make sure you mention you want a pretest before the smog technician begins entering information into the smog machine. A pretest will not stop information from being sent to the BAR, but it will stop the BAR from using the information against your vehicle. In other words, during a pretest, if your vehicle produced GP results, it will not be desginated a s a Gross Polluter vehicle.
