2006 VW Jetta - Is the smog check different in Northern CA?

2006 VW Jetta (turbo).. are standards different between northern and southern california making testing up north more expensive


Answer:		Same smog test... except if your in a "basic" smog check area your VW will only need to be smog checked while the engine is idling and while it's running at 2500 rpms. If you are in an "enhanced" smog check area, your VW will be smog checked while it is being driven on a dynomometer. posted by SmogTips Support
