1988 Chevy Suburban - How long is a valid smog check certificate good for?
We got the old Chevy Suburban to pass smog test, then found out the after sitting for 4 years that it had not been non-op'ed and now DMV wants $500+ in penalties! We don't have $500 to pay the penalites, so how long is the smog cert good for?
Answer:
A California Smog Certificate is only valid for 90 days. You will need to get a new smog certificate for you Chevy Suburban at this point, and pay the DMV penalties if youd like to register it.
