Using a fuel additive in your Ford Escort can be helpful in lowering
emission levels. Additives generally clean carbon deposits in your engine's
intake and exhaust paths, allowing for both fuel and air to flow freely
within. This does help lower emission levels and improve combustion. However
it should be noted, a single use will not improve much. Fuel additive are
intended to be used during the course of an engine's lifetime, not necessary
remove build-up in one use. To answer your question... If we had a choice we
would choose Chevron w/ Techron brand, but use 3 tank fulls prior to getting a smog test.
