Fact is... The exhaust header you've installed must have an EO number
affixed to it. All California legal exhaust headers have a stamp on them
with an Executive Order number indicated they are legal for sale and use in
California. Older aftermarket components may not have a stamp but will be
shipped with paperwork indicating the model, design, and EO number; which
you would provide the smog technician before the smog check proceeds.
At this point you can return to the emission test center with your header's
documentation and ask for a re-test. There may or may not be a fee involved
for the retest.
