Yes. Your 1981 Chevy 3/4 Ton truck with a 350 engine does need to have a
Catalytic Converter. It needs one (1) CAT. The CAT must be a two way (OC)
CAT, as opposed to a three (3) way CAT. You will find this type of CAT at
most muffler shops.
