1990 Honda CRX needs smog check AGAIN? Why?

I purchased car last year, June 2009. Upon transfer, I had it smogged. Passed on initial test. Met all requirements to transfer ownership and renew registration. I recieved registration vehicle registration renewal from DMV which I indicates REQUIRED SMOG CHECK again. WHY?


Answer:		The smog check required to transfer title during a vehicle's purchase is separate from the smog inspection required during a vehicle's registration renewal purpose. And so... You had to smog check your Honda CRX once when you bought it, and now again during its biennial registration renewal period. posted by SmogTips Support
