How Often Does a 2016 Vehicle Need a Smog Check?

I have owned my 2016 Impreza Sport for 3 years and have never been required to show a smog check for registration. Is there any reason why? How often should my Impreza need a smog test?


Answer:		As of 2019 January, only vehicles older that eight years will require a biennial smog check inspection. Your gasoline-powered vehicle should require a smog check in 2024. The DMV will instruct you to obtain an emissions inspection in order to renew its registration. Your registration renewal notice will indicate the requirement. posted by SmogTips Support
