This might be a problem. If you purchased the vehicle as "new", meaning less than 7500 miles on the odometer, you will be unable to register it in California. It's not really a matter of passing a smog check even. The problem is this Toyota Tundra was never intended to be originally shipped from the manufacturer to California or sold in California as a new vehicle. This regulation does not apply to used vehicles. For instance, let's assume this Tundra was considered "used" and you were purchasing it from a private party from any state out of California, you'd have no problem registering it here. You'd visit a smog station, they'd inspect the truck, and even though it's emission sticker says 49-State Emissions Certified (Federal Only - Not California Emission Certified), you'd still be able to pass the smog check and register the truck in CA. But since it's a new vehicle, this can not be done. We'd image you'll need to contact both the broker and the dealership to find a solution to this problem; which more than likely will need to involve you returning the vehicle to the seller.
