To pull the trouble codes from your 1990 through 1993 Honda Accord you'll need to access the two wire ECU connector located near the passenger side kick panel. You will find a blue connector with one red wire and one green. You will need to insert a paperclip of metal wire between the two prongs. Insert the wire connector while your Honda's ignition is off. After inserting the wire connector/paper clip, turn the ignition on to "ACC ON". The dashboard lights should light up and the check engine light begin flashing. Pay attention to the lights and begin counting the flashes on and off.
You will notice long flashes and short flashes. A long flash indicates the first number of the trouble code. The short flashes indicate the second number of the trouble code. For example... one long flash followed by a pause and two short flashes indicate trouble code 12, which related to the EGR system. A five short flashes and no long flash indicates a fault with the MAP sensor.
Below is a list of all the trouble codes which relate to your 1990 through 1993 Honda Accord.

Should you want to reset the ECU (Clear Trouble Codes), follow the ECU Reset Procedure below:
A. Disconnect your Honda Accord's negative battery terminal.
B. Open the fuse box located under the hood and pull out the ECU fuse.
C. Keep the battery and ECU fuse disconnected for 5-10 minutes.
D. Reinsert the ECU fuse and reattach the negative battery terminal.
E. Start your Honda Accord. The check engine light should now be off. If the CEL is still on, this indicates your Honda Accord has a "hard" fault which is causing the CEL to turn on immediately once the engine is started. Try the reset procedure again. You may need to retrieve the trouble code(s) and diagnose the fault(s) if the CEL won't turn off after a second reset.
