Passenger vehicles which are 1995 and older (such as your 1992 Toyota Corolla), along with the exhaust test portion of the smog inspection, require an additional test called the LPFET test (also known as EVAP test). The LPFET test takes additional time and requires the smog inspection to have purchased additional testing equipment (and the expense that goes along with it); subsequently raising the cost of inspection for 1995 & older cars, trucks, vans, and some RVs.
