The rolling 30 year smog exemption was repealed in 2005. Currently AB-550 is in the works, which will bring the rolling exemption back and require owners of vehicles' 30 years or older to pay a smog abatement fee of $200 in lieu of getting a smog check, however this bill has not been signed into law as of yet.
