K&N Air Filter on 1992 Toyota Corolla DX

Will my Toyota Corolla pass the smog test with the air filter housing removed and a round performance filter from K & N installed? Also the air temperature sensor is installed in tube before throttle body and after the air filter.


Answer:		It sounds like you might have a57i Gen I Intake Kit installed on your Toyota Corolla; which is not legal for street use in California. It will cause a smog check failure. If the aftermarket air intake system you've installed is other than the a57i model please check with K & N for an Executive Order (EO) number. The smog technician will be looking for an EO number on the air intake unit in order to not mark the unit as a tamper. posted by SmogTips Support
