You'll need to purchase a shop manual for the 1983 or 1984 Ford Mustang 302 ci engine in order to get all the data you'll need to perform this engine change. The BAR will need to smog check your Mustang after the engine change to ensure the job was done properly and all the emission components match that of a 302 ci engine, including the computer and exhaust system (not including muffler), plus your Ford Mustang's emissions are below limits.
As far as replacing your current engine with a carburated version, we can not recommend doing that. The BAR frowns upon degrading an engine's technology.
