The fuel injector cleaner is good to use before the smog check; a few weeks
before. Fuel additives are intended for long term engine benefits, and must
be poured in during at least three tank fill ups. A warmed up engine is
absolutely a must, and properly inflated tires are also very important. Best
thing is to ensure your Toyota is in good running order, it starts up fine
in the mornings, it has no hesitation, no idle problems, vibrations, major
oil leaks, overheating problems... And no check engine light on. If this
sounds like your Toyota Corolla, go for it and take the smog test. If
properly maintained your car should have no problem passing the smog
inspection.
