1997 Ford Mustang with Modified Mass Airflow Sensor
This Ford Mustang was recently purchesed and needs a smog check for the transfer of title to be complete.
The car failed a smog due to an aftermarket mass airflow sensor. I have recently moved to a county that does not require a smog test. Can I just change the address and not smog the car? or do I still need to do a smog for the transfer of title?
Answer:
Even in counties where a biennial smog check is not required, a change of ownership smog check is. In this particular case you will need to have the modified MAF sensor replaced with the correct one and have a smog test administered.
