2004 Chevy Trailblazer. Dashboard gauges not working.
Will non working gauges cause us to fail smog? My warning lights all work, such as check engine, gas, change oil, etc., but the actual gauges, the speedometer, RPM, oil, gas, temperature, battery, etc. have not worked for some time. I do not have a check engine light currently on either, and the last one that did come on was for faulty O2 sensors. Will not having replaced the sensors also cause it to fail?

None of the gauges will cause a smog check failure. The only indicator on
the your Chevy which could cause a failed smog inspection is the Check
Engine light or MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp). As far as the Oxygen
Sensor replacement... I have to assume if the Check Engine Light on your
Chevy is not currently on or illuminated then the emissions computer does
not see a fault with the oxygen sensors or any other emissions component for
that fact. So I'd recommend you continue with the smog test. If any faults
are present the smog test will reveal them. So far though, without the check
engine light on, you look good. Again, the instrument gauges, working or
not, will not effect the smog test results.
