Are you required to get a smog check at a station in the county in which the vehicle is registered? Or, can I go to any one in the state. My truck is registered in Santa Barbara and I'd like to use a shop in Ventura county.

A smog station in an Enhanced smog program county can smog check a vehicle registered in a Basic smog check program but the reverse is not allowed.
