Trouble code P0441 indicates a problem with the Purge Control Solenoid Valve also known as the Purge Control Valve.
Trouble code P0441 may be triggered by the purge valve being defective, the ECU not operating properly, and/or the EVAP canister which holds fuel vapors being saturated with raw fuel.
We recommend a smog check station inspect the EVAP soleniod for proper operation. This can be done by applying voltage to the EVAP solenoid and checking to see if it closes and opens properly. You should hear a clicking noise as this happens and if applying vacuum to the valve, notice vacuum being released when energized.
The EVAP canister should be checked to see if it contains raw gas. The canister should also be checked for leaks.
Last but not least the ECU needs to be inspected for its ability to send the proper EVAP signal to the solenoid.
